I received an unexpected box today from VFW Post 4387, San Diego (one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been) that made me feel absolutely special! Girl stuff! I can’t thank you enough for sending such wonderful little goodies!!! I put the lip gloss on immediately and then tucked the lip plumper into my pocket:-) Plus what was really fantastic was the cross-ages items (e.g., firming creams) since I turned 40 last month and need some extra oomph…

I will take the box today to some lovely ladies who I know will be thrilled…it’s like finding a treasure chest! We will be wonderful women for a stolen moment instead of airmen, and soldiers and sailors:-)

I saw news comments recently about controversy over the idea of sending care packages with make-up. I want you to know that your thoughtfulness instantly brought life back into perspective and definitely gave me a big boost. Thank you most sincerely, Kristine

Operation Courage Is Beautiful Care Packages

Dear Folks -

Today I received the best package! I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciated the contents. I get lots of mail. But this was the nicest I received since arriving in Kandahar. The quality of items was just incredible. I may be a Soldier but I am all female and I know good stuff. Clinique make-up!!!!! OMG!!!

I went back to my little living area and just cried. You have no idea how something such as this made me feel so special.
